Philosophy/Thoughts

I am at a loss for words!!

I started coming to Just Jam in 2010, just to see what all the hype was about (heard some good stuff from friends about it). When I went I loved it!

In 2011 I went again to Just Jam because I wanted to see if it could be any better than before…it was! I was amazed at what took place, plus I was filming there and I documented my travels!

This time though? I have no idea how it’s going to turn out…but some nasty shit is going to go down! Poe One is coming to judge; many other European B-Boys are battling…and my homie Daniel Zhu is coming to film with me!!

Here’s to Just Jam, hope it’s the best one ever! 🙂

I just saw this battle on BboyWorld and was a bit ashamed to see that there was a lot of controversy over the judges decision for Roxrite to win (he took the whole event). People were saying that Cheerito should have won, but I’m going to give my own opinion of this battle:

Both were musical, but Rox flowed better. Rox also had better execution over the course of the battle – he hardly ever crashes! Cheerito had good energy but when the beat didn’t require him to dance fast, he still did. Couldn’t change the dynamics of his moves to suit the music but was still hitting some accents in the music. So gave that to Rox overall.

Plus, for those that are saying the DJ was wack, he was actually very good in this battle!! Played to a slower tempo but still kept some feeling to his beats, besides you can’t dance fast all the time that’s terrible!

So, from the UK Uni Champs that took place on Saturday, I noticed a few things and I also understood some great things:

1. That day was all about putting all the new things I’ve been working on into practice, whether it be a cypher or a battle, and most of it turned out really well!

2. My toprock was more relaxed, I was more calm – just wasn’t convicted enough to all of my movements. Plus, I also did a better job of looking up at my opponents this time.

3. Don’t imitate humping a girl unless you really know she’s of a legal age. Just lucky that a while after I did that I found out she was old enough…but the crowd didn’t know. LOL.

I now know what I need to do for the next time i need to battle 🙂

Now I’m working towards a big battle, not going to say what it is until it comes out from the organisers, but stay tuned! It will be the biggest battle I’ve done, and it’s going to be a heated one!!

Just recently my crewmate Karol posted saying there was going to be a Bonnie and Clyde event soon, and I got really excited since I’ve never took part in one.

Basically, a Bonnie and Clyde battle is a 2v2 event but out of each pair there has to be 1 guy and 1 girl (hence Bonnie and Clyde).

I find them to be quite interesting, that it’s bboy vs bboy and bgirl vs bgirl. Don’t get me wrong, you get some dope B-Girls that can take out quite a lot of B-Boys – although I think if the girl can’t do flexible stuff then everyone’s there to watch the B-Boys!

The clip below is of a Bonnie and Clyde event in Poland, and the event that’s coming up will be a preliminary for that event. Check it!
