This is a ridiculous battle between B-Boys that do have similar styles!

The event took place in France on 12th May.

Illusion of Exist (Russia) are some of the most creative dudes on the planet today…but the same can be said for Lionz of Zion. I have a crew mate that’s in LOZ (he’s my crew mate through Strife.tv) and everyone I’ve spoken to from LOZ are really friendly and welcoming. Napalm (3rd guy on right) has been inspiring me lately, not just with breaking but with life in general – he’ll be getting a mention soon (as he is part of one of my objectives on my life list).

Enjoy 🙂

A great video that one of my Strife.tv crew mates did on Prada G (X-Mob/MightyZuluKingz) who, not that long ago, won a Red Bull BC One qualifier to compete at Red Bull BC One USA – the last qualifier.

He is only 15 years old, and gets so much support from his mother. The great thing is the mother (Deby) will support him through his dancing but knows when to step her foot down and tell him to focus on his studies.

May I say, that his mother is a great example of an encouraging, supportive mother!

This guy is really something special in worldwide B-Boying!

Kujo is one of the most powerful dancers you’ll find, ever. I don’t mean powerful as in lots of power moves or anything, I mean raw strength and power!!

As you’ll hear in the video, Kujo is completely deaf in 1 ear and almost deaf in the other. He is a part of two crews, Soul Control and ill Abilities (a crew of other B-Boys with disabilities.

It’s not enough for me to talk about it, watch the footage and see for yourself!

So this week President Obama has spoken on his views on same sex marriage, and came to the conclusion that those of the same sex should get married.

There is always a pro and con to anything, even same sex marriage. Obama said that when people think of “marriage” there’s a lot of religious beliefs and traditions that are evoked. This is most prominent for those that are Christian, since in Christianity (mainly Catholicism) there are certain traditions that are to be followed (get married in a church, take communion etc).

But I have to agree with Obama and say that I think those of the same sex should be allowed to get married.

People can say it’s morally wrong and such but let me explain my POV:

We as humans are normally allowed free will (the ability to think for ourselves and speak/act freely); OK there may be unwritten laws and common laws on things that you shouldn’t really say or do but in general we have the pleasure to do what we like. We have this ability from a child, and everyone is created the same.

To be a gay person (whether you be a man or woman) doesn’t mean you’re made differently, it’s not like a gay person has different organs from straight people, it only means their view of the world and what they feel attracted to could be different to how straight people behave.

I’m going to impose a bit of Hip Hop 101 here, as most of my blog posts have been related to Hip Hop Culture:

Hip Hop does not discriminate; it is not a culture that only men can partake in, there are a lot of women that are killing it in Hip Hop right now; and Hip Hop is very open to people with disabilities and people from many different backgrounds and beliefs. Hip Hop is not just for black or white people, it is open to everyone and every religious belief.

So how is this related to same sex marriage? Simple, they live the same life as we do except their beliefs can be different. Even if their view of the world might be different from yours, we still have to respect that – people may not like it but we all have to respect their decisions/opinions!

But who are we to discriminate? Some people have crazy perceptions of gay people – especially gay men – and it’s terrible!

So, I’m glad this has happened!

When I was filming this Bonnie and Clyde event on Sunday, I hooked up with one of the judges (Just-Roc) and we decided to do some filming and an interview.

Justin actually lives through teaching kids and adults how to break, that’s how he earns his living. But yet he is probably one of the only UK B-Boys that travels so many times in one year to many different countries to dance (France, Switzerland, Spain, Korea, China etc).

So we spoke a bit about how he copes with living through breaking and what sacrifices he’s had to make in order to do what he loves.

While I was filming and editing this, it brought a lot of confidence and faith back into my filming! After the mixed reviews of the short film I recently did (All Tied Up! – please keep sharing this video for me!) I began to doubt whether I could make the transition from my regular filming to a more experimental/commercial route. This video I’ve done now was the first time I’ve attempted this style, and it was a lot of fun! You’ll most def be seeing more of these videos in the near future.

So with a huge thanks to Justin aka Just-Roc for agreeing to take part, I present to you his feature “Living the Break Life”.

Myself (right) with Just-Roc.

This is something SPECIAL here!

Both these people don’t rap themselves, but have been associated with the Don’t Flop league for a while. Pete Cashmore works for The Guardian and Nuts magazine, and mentions Don’t Flop a few times, and Bentlegz is the man behind the Don’t Flop blog.

Both raising money for Depression Alliance. I commend what these two are doing, and am inspired to do such a thing myself!
