Hey guys!

I must express my apologies for not updating this blog. Life has taken me on some incredible, and stressful, journeys and the blog was out of my thoughts for a long time. From travelling to film different events, to taking 9 months out of my year to write my university thesis. From leaving Strife.tv to being funded to travel the USA to learn about Hip Hop. So many things have happened since my last post here.

During my time away from this blog I’ve been thinking of better ways to promote myself and to promote my work/lifestyle. The idea of a blog was definitely at the top of my list. Unfortunately, this blog is not the answer. I have over-saturated this blog with many useless things which have, perhaps, resulted in its inactivity. To promote myself as a professional to people, this is the kind of activity that should be avoided. Quality over quantity. It’s the ethos which drives my work and my creative enterprises.

Therefore, I am sad to announce that this is my last post. At least on this blog anyway. I shall keep all my previous posts online for others to see. However, there will be no more updates to this blog. I have many followers, and I am sorry to disappoint them about this.

In terms of professionalism, I do have a new blog! I will be using this one more to document my life and work. You can visit it here: http://chazbonnarblog.wordpress.com

Thank you to everybody who has taken an interest in my posts! In one form or another, I hope my stories and shares have been fascinating or insightful. There may be some things here which I can transfer to the new blog. Only because they may be topics I wish to speak about again.

To keep in touch with my life you can follow me on Twitter @ChazB and follow the new blog. The content will be of higher quality. That I can assure you of.

Until next time!

A few weeks ago I attended, and filmed, a double album launch for two of Scotland’s most talented MCs.

Both of these artists – Loki and MOG – have been making music and making noise for quite some time, and everybody was thrilled there were new albums coming from these two.

There were other guest acts and performers at the event, and I present to you the official recap video of it!

You can download Loki’s new album, Edging God Out, here:  http://misterlokiscotland.bandcamp.com/album/edging-god-out

You can download MOG’s new album, In Black ‘N’ White, here: http://mog-in-black-n-white.bandcamp.com/album/in-black-n-white

Hope everybody enjoys this! 🙂

This is a recent video that I filmed with one of Scotland’s top rappers – Loki.

An intelligent wordsmith is only touching the surface when it comes to describing this man’s lyrical ability. This is the music video to show everybody that he’s back from whatever slump he was in before. It was a big responsibility for me given that this is his return, but the privilege is mine!

Hope you enjoy it and share 🙂

In the age that I live in, I technically can’t live without the internet! Well, I could, but it would be quite difficult given that I use the internet for so many things that it’s quite bizarre. I don’t think it’s more the content that’s amazed me, but how wide the searches have been if you consider things in the bigger picture.

So I thought, for some fun, I would show you guys 5 things I’ve searched for in the past:

1. Sex Positions

http://www.ranker.com/list/the-5-most-dangerous-sex-positions-_and-how-to-do-them-_/elaineyo

http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=5831521

I don’t feel embarrassed about this one because I think it’s something that we should know to do. I mean, you can’t live your whole life in missionary, doggy or cowgirl! Gotta spice things up a bit…but my imagination likes to go crazy! Thus we’ve got these 2 links to satisfy those that like to let their mind wonder!

2. Drinking Games

http://www.totalfilm.com/features/the-20-best-movie-drinking-games/page:19/

http://www.damnlol.com/evans-drinking-game-13322.html

I will admit, I’ve not played many drinking games! The first time I did, I had such a bad hangover for this dance event the next day – but still I managed to do well! :P. But I always like to add a bit of fun to the nights I spend with my friends, so this is definitely something that I wouldn’t mind doing.

3. JawKneeYeah

I used to watch videos from him all the time when I was younger! I’d hate to say this, but I think I grew out of this :(. Such a shame, it’s funny!

4. QuietLibrary

At one point this was the funniest video I’d ever seen! I liked QuietLibrary b/c they put their own spin on a lot of topics they cover.

5. Boon Doc

When I was first making a “transition” from listening to regular music to listening to more Hip Hop, this was a guy I was very much interested in at the time! He still makes some dope stuff, don’t get me wrong he can still kill it on a production tip, I just stopped looking at his videos.

Well, hope you guys enjoyed that! Was definitely a blast from the past looking at my favourites and seeing all these crop up 🙂

I will admit, most of the songs I will be posting throughout this segment will probably me rap music. There is a lot of hype music and a lot of it, for me, comes from rap music!

But I recently discovered this one today, hadn’t heard of the artist before but I’m in love! You get this raw feeling when you listen to the track, almost like you’re right there in front of him while he spits the verses in your face. I love the jazzy feel to the track too, but the drums kick this into hype mode!

This is “Checkmate” by Jay Rock.

Once you’re hype you’re there for a while! 1 love.

Apologies for not posting up yesterday, other commitments called me!

I hadn’t heard this beat in a long time, but even when I did hear it again I didn’t know what the song name was. There is definitely something about this beat that makes me want to go off – probably not dancing though. But honestly, this is now one of my new favourite songs to listen to; but only when I don’t listen to it often therefore it keeps the surprise and the excitement.

Here’s “Back to the Future” by Ta-Ku.

Have a happy hyped day! 1 love.

I got very excited when I saw that there was a music video for Napalm. One, because I hadn’t heard the song before and two, I’ve been waiting for this song for a while! I’m still not sure if the album is out yet but I really hope it is!

Anyway, this song sounds very different from stuff you normally hear from him. It will take you by surprise…but somehow it works!! I’d say it’s a great workout song.

Here’s “Napalm” by Xzibit.

If you’re hyped, stay that way! 1 love.

After the success of “Funky song of the day” I have decided to try something a bit different:

Instead of searching for funky songs to re-post, I have started to search for songs that get me in a great mood and all hyped up! I come across quite a few hype songs in my time searching for music – plus I’ve got many more to share if I remember to search for them – and I feel it’s time that these hype songs get featured!

I watch a lot of King of the Dot as of the last 6 months (used to watch the old GrindTime battles before it got sour) and this was one of the songs that I found at the start of the video! If you know Naughty by Nature then you’ll definitely know Trigger Treach.

Here’s “Certified” by Peter Jackson feat Treach.

Stay hype and happy! 1 love.

This was a battle that I was really hyped about for so long; Canibus has spit some of the sickest rhymes of the 90s/early 2000s and Dizaster has cemented his reputation as one of the best in battle rap. When KOTD (King of the Dot) announced they were going to battle, I went nuts!

I couldn’t watch online because I didn’t have the money for the Pay-per-View on UStream, and I don’t think I could wait for the official footage to come out (could be out when I leave for America), so off I went to find an unofficial bootlegged version. Someone had actually screen-capped the whole event, that had other battles such as DNA vs Eurgh (HOT!!) and Arsonal vs Illmaculate (I haven’t seen this yet, but heard neither spit their best stuff).

I found Canibus vs Dizaster finally! I had such high expectations of Canibus. He has amazing lyrics. I already knew the danger that Dizaster could do, especially in his battle against DNA.

I was hoping that this battle would be as good, if not better, than the Dizaster vs DNA one.

Canibus started off great! His first 2 rounds had a lot of great content and his wordplay was on point. Dizaster delivered as he always does: Aggressive, in your face, powerful! But in the third round, things went very pear-shaped.

Canibus accepted defeat, because he couldn’t remember his lines…and pulled out his notebook. THAT’S A NO-GO!! In ANY battle, whether it be a B-Boy battle or a Rap Battle, you cannot pull off shit like that! Not only is it very weak but it’s also pathetic and disrespectful to the opponent – and if you get to watch the footage Dizaster said in his last round he felt disrespected…then went to destroy Canibus. Anyone that pulls out a notebook in a battle gets clowned on, and respect is lost.

I don’t know if the pressure got to Canibus but he fucked up! Big time, he fucked up. He could have genuinely been unprepared since it was his first battle in like 15 years or so, but this battle has been made official since like January and in the video he said he only wrote for 3 weeks??

But after the battle, Canibus and Dizaster said their thoughts on stuff – and Canibus said some real cool words about Dizaster. He apologised for not performing up to the standard that everyone was hoping he would, and that takes real guts to do that. Dizaster then said that when he was growing up in Hip Hop, Canibus was his favourite artist for a long while, and for him to step in the ring takes serious balls and the respect is there for taking up the battle and doing his thing.

You could see this battle both sides; you could say it was disappointing because of Canibus’ antics but you could say that it was awesome because Canibus battled! Some people seriously do not know how grateful they are for such battles to happen, and for the footage to be in such high quality! It comes to the point where people don’t appreciate the people/organisation that bring out the footage and just comment on the bad thing that happened in the video – I know this cause it’s happened in my videos too.

I guess I can say I wish Canibus did better, but I’m really happy I got to witness history! So everyone, as much as Canibus did fuck up, you guys probably can’t do any better so shut up and be humble!

A new video from one of my favourite new Scottish artists!

Hector Bizerk (Louie Bhoy + Audrey) hooked up with Josh Hicks to put out this cool video. My crewmate Tesko is the B-Boy in this video.

There’d be some things about the video I would change, but I’m not gonna go into that – I’m in love with the song! I’ve had the privilege of hearing this live too, the experience is awesome! I’m fortunate enough to be hooking up with Louie Bhoy in the near future for a video to one of his other songs.

You can support Hector Bizerk on Facebook too: https://www.facebook.com/hectorbizerk
